About Fibi

For the love of the game.

Our story

FIBI began with a simple idea: to bring young athletes together through a shared love of baseball. What started as a local tournament soon grew into an international tradition, welcoming teams from across the United States and around the world to compete, build friendships, and experience the warmth of Freeport. Throughout the years, local residents, businesses, volunteers, and host families have opened their doors and hearts to visiting players, creating connections that last long after the final game. From generations of participants to unforgettable moments at James Swartz Memorial Field, each tournament has added a new chapter to FIBI’s story. As we look to the future, we remain committed to honoring these traditions, welcoming new teams, and ensuring that FIBI continues bringing people together for generations to come.

The Story That Says It Best

Sometimes the best way to understand FIBI isn’t through scores or statistics, but through the people who have experienced it. Robert Sanders, coach of the Beringer Braves, captured its impact perfectly:

“If I never play another game of baseball, this was worth it all.”

His letter reminds us that FIBI is about more than baseball—it’s about the people, hospitality, and connections that make Freeport unforgettable.
